After a few email exchanges, we met Tushar and Anita on Degraves Street (Melbourne) in winter. We huddled together under a row of heated black umbrella with a crowd mix of locals and tourist alike and chatted away. They shared that they were from Singapore and currently based in Melbourne. However, having extended families travelling from India would make Singapore a more ideal wedding destination. We also spoke about our lack of experience shooting Sikh Weddings but they seem to be happy managing this risk.

A three-day wedding almost sounded like a special category in a marathon race itself. Fortunately for us, we did not have to train for it. The moment we step foot in the first residence, we were wide-eyed and overwhelmed by the spectacle of unfamiliar traditions yet familiar happy vibes. We were guided by Rav, an experienced photographer who shared the significance of certain traditions and the food we had to try.

We know opportunities like these don’t come by easy and would like to thank Tushar and Anita for trusting us. Our new favourite food is now Papri Chaat.
